A resurgent the Russian player won his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, winning just one match at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's first title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
The win also means he has won twenty-one victories at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.
However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional title, took control to force a third set.
The opponent rescued four early break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
