Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Fighters Party

Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in strength within the city.

Note: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.

This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

Dividing the Cast

Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the party enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and The cleric defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This means them little choice but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

According to the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Seekers and Strategists tables.

Audiences can expect discovering which adventurers will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
