I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two time world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
