Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered disruption to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

He said that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the city experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The assaults come after periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were preparing for further attacks.
